Tech Support

I have appealed to Google twice now to consider reviewing my account. Nothing. Not surprising, I am still waiting, after almost two years, for them to respond to my request for a blog review of the original FLIPFLOPSBOY. So now, disgusted as I am, I think it's time to move on. Any thoughts?

Jeff and Brent have given me a few ideas, and I am waiting for Jeff to send me a link. Some suggest Nibblebit. I went there when my first blog was shut down, and soon after they had some type of major server error. I guess I am reticent, although I see many bloggers there.

I am not opposed to a pay service, if I can be secure. I have been blogging almost 4 years, and now have lost everything. I am sick.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Or maybe I will just quit this once and for all. It's just another disappointment in my life.

  1. Have you thought of getting your own domain name? They say that's supposed to help, although I personally have my doubts.

  2. Please don't just accept this as "just another dissapointment in your life". I am not a computer whiz, but I just don't believe in giving up.

Please know that your work is appreciated and used daily.

  5. Okay, it's time to take this raft of lemons you got handed here, and make yourself - and all your fans out here - a big ass pitcher of vodka 'n' lemonade. I don't know shit about setting up web sites; all I do know is: Never, never, never, give up!! Oh, I also know we miss you, and want you back !!!!

  6. Don't give up; you have a very loyal fan base that makes you their daily web habit. I know that the internet is of no real value, to me, without you.

You are funny and charming. You have a fantastic taste of posting material, and are a very strong person.

Don't give up just because this google corporation is against you.

  7. You cannot give up. Not you! Courage, I cannot (we cannot) guess you defeated.
You are better than that and Google do not deserves such a victory. In fact, it deserves no victory.
You know the Bambiboyz blog? Previously, it was called Bambiboy (whith no Z). Bambiboy has been deleted because a Russian site took its name. They have overcome the test, and Babyboyz is daily duplicated on a rescue blog. That is what you have to do.
Regarding Nibblebit, I attended for several years a blog hosted by them without any problem more severe than very few cuts of a few hours.
More importantly, they are less prudish and more respectful of individual freedom.
A major server error can occure anywhere, at any moment and for anybody, even for a ".com" site (that is the only solution I know better than Nibblebit).
A problem may be due to your or our access provider as well as to your hosting provider. The important is that the problem is solved, preferably quickly.

  11. Check out serversanddomains dot com. They have a very liberal AU policy; I've used them before, though not for an adult site. Still, a question to their legal (see About Us) should give you info. They have a plan with unlimited webspace & unlimited bandwidth for just $12/year. Don't know if they have blogging software, but easy to find elsewhere otherwise.

I just checked with my domain provider (tiger-direct-domains dot com) and flipflopii dot com is available (please DO NOT use godaddy dot com - you've had enough headaches already!). I keep my two (temporarily retired) domain names there, have for several years without a problem.

Running your own site isn't as hard as one might think. There's an initial effort, but after that it gets easy. Please consider - you are appreciated and missed! :)

  14. FFB,I had a whole blathering paragraph about the struggles in life and it's how a person goes forward and deals with these hardships that makes a man stronger and more vibrant...yada yada yada.

But...instead, I copied over what I said the other day about how happy I am that you're back blogging.

SO GLAD YOU'RE BACK, I DONE SPUNKED ALL OVER MY DAMN SELF--

This is why, in my humbly, horned up opinion, that you have to find a new spot and continue with your voice.

I'll follow you, where the fuck ever--

  15. "a big ass pitcher of vodka 'n' lemonade " " I'll follow you , where the fuck ever " I love those remarks all sound like good people . I would recommend Nibblebit but I'm no expert so it will be interesting what Artistry of Male recommends. PS never give up.

  16. I understand your feeling of 'giving up'. I go through that feeling at least once a month, especially when I want feedback on my blog and I get 'nothing'. I am thinking of checking out nibblebit as a mirrow site to my blog. Not sure if that is the answer, but don't give up.

  18. Have you ever considered simply buying a domain name and pointing it wherever your blog may be? Domain names are cheap: $9.99 at godaddy or some other place like that. If a blog gets shut down just go to godaddy and point your domain name at the new location. You will retain your search engine status and you will never lose your visitors.
